Welcome, Beebee

Things over the past almost three months have totally changed for me. Michael and I have our own house now with Penny and Holly...and Beebee, the newest addition to our clan. I found Beebee about two weeks ago while Michael, his family and I were picking black berries behind our house. Little did I expect to find a black berry with a heartbeat, but now we have our own little Black Berry, aka Beebee.

Beebee could barely walk when I found her. She was about four weeks old at the time and the only kitten. Her mother is still around, and boy do I feel bad about "stealing" her away from her, but I didn't want Beebee to grow up not knowing what it feels like to have a real home, love, food and clean water every day. BOY was I surprised when it was official that Beebee could be apart of our family...living on the patio, that is. Michael is allergic to cats, but I am MORE than thankful he welcomed Beebee into our lives. Those who know me know that I am a cat lover at heart and have had them since the day I was born. Beebee, Penny and Holly are a team now and all love playing together!

This week we will begin the construction of our privacy fence! You know you have reached adulthood and home ownership when something like a privacy fence makes you so excited! I can't wait to spend more time in our backyard!

It's a great day at TeleVox

I got a new job! I'll be working as an implementation specialist with Vox On-Hold at TeleVox Software. I'll be working with their on-hold message marketing. So...if you call your doctor's office and get put on hold to a custom message talking about their office - that could be the work (not voice) of me. I start March 9th!

Goodbye Spanish Fort Sun. I will miss the newspaper and city so much. It is a great community that I would enjoy raising my family in when that time comes. Hopefully I can find a freelance position somewhere and can write/photograph in my spare time for a magazine or newspaper.

Locks of Love

I turned 25 today and before going out to celebrate with friends I stopped by to see my hair stylist, Virginia at Reflections, to get a hair cut. I cut off 13 inches to donate to Locks of Love. This is the second time I have made a donation to LOL.

I lost a dear friend, Craig Wilson, in 1999 to cancer. He was 15 years old. I miss him every day and wish there was a cure out there for cancer. Since I can't help with that, I try to help in any way I can. Just to know that there is someone out there who has a real-hair wig because of me just warms my heart.

Good Morning Sunshine

I snapped these shots on the way to work at the newspaper early one morning. The causeway's sunrise is so beautiful.

Infested

We went to pick some fresh basil from outside to cook with and had these creepy little guys under one of the leaves. Making a trip to go buy insect soap today!

Writing, writing and more writing

I love my job! My editor, Mary-Allison, is leaving me for the Gulf Shores Islander. She will be greatly missed. Best wishes MA!
