Bee and Cee

Beebee loves paper bags! They are the best toy you can give her. Ceecee boy has started to get into the paper bag thing as well, literally. Silly kitties!

Backtracking

Lately I just haven't been able to catch a break. If it's not one thing it's another it seems. See, I usually do my blogging from my phone, rarely logging into a computer unless I want to make a post...which as you can tell hasn't been too often lately. I didn't realize I had a few post drafts that were never published. So instead of delete them or leave them pending, here is one. It was meant for several weeks ago when we completed project privacy fence. We have been thoroughly enjoying the backyard!

Michael is so great. He spent a full day by himself putting up the fence runners while I was at work. Easily a two-person job. I guess the ol' nail gun counted as person #2. When I got home from work I was quite impressed.

Since all of the runners were up, it's time to move on to the boards. You would nail one up, move to the next and keep going and going and....going. Then you just tried not to look and see HOW many more feet of boards there were to put up. One board at a time people, one board at a time.

The finished product! Our backyard is flat then starts to slow, which made us really scared on how exactly this project was going to go. We had never built a fence before. Since this picutre the holes under the fence have filled themselves in quite nicely. Outdoor privacy from the neighbors + keeping Penny and Holly away from Miss Janice next door who is scared of dogs = sweet fence success!

While we were outside slavin' away, I came in to find Ceecee boy snoozin' away.

He's a weirdo

So to celebrate our newly found backyard freedom, Michael grilled out some delicious steaks.

We sure are enjoying every minute of it!

Cabin sweet cabin

This weekend Michael, Penny, Holly and I all went to stay in a cabin at the Lost Bay KOA in Lillian, AL. We all had a great time, and it was fantastic to find a place that allows dogs for a measly $10 pet fee. There were dogs everywhere and the girls loved it. We are already planning our next trip back next month for Michael's birthday.

Holly, excited to be going bye bye. "Are we there yet?"
Penny found the perfect spot so she could see to help us navigate our way there
Michael and our cabin, "High Tide." It was a great little cabin. Basically just a bedroom, but we grilled out so there was no need for a kitchen. Bathrooms and showers are very close by.

The cabin next door also had dogs
The girls loved looking out the little window that was just their size. Holly was looking for her new friend next door.
"Hello new friend, I see you."
More of the cabins down on Perdido Bay
We went fishing while we were there. Michael caught two croakers and I caught a catfish.
Michael and I had a blast riding around in the golf cart
But not as much fun as Holly and Penny had riding on the golf cart. They didn't miss a minute of the golf cart action.

We can't wait to go back!

Miscellaneous photos

From my phone...

The "TC" sushi roll from Three Flavors. All cooked, the only way to go for me.

Ceecee and the cone. This was after he was attacked by another cat. Poor Cee boy.

I consider my blog PG rated. This is a strawberry we grew in our garden.

Daddy, I'll just lay right here while you play guitar. K, thanks.

The girls love the wind in their hair

Wreath in progress. I ran out of glue sticks to finish, but getting more today.

This is a huge bowl! Our tomatoes we have grown as of late.

Kristen and me

Mr. Cee chillin' out

Rachel, Frank, Michael and I went floundering. Thankfully the boys gigged a few.

More to come...

Long post for a long weekend wrap up

Ahh, Memorial Day weekend.

The sand between your toes, sun on your shoulders and smell of sun block in the air…usually.

We did not do the traditional festivities for the long weekend. We worked on building our fence. I guess I did get to smell the sun block in the air, but the smell of sun block was mixed with smell of fresh-cut lumber.

I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Michael and I can look back and say that WE built that fence. It may have taken a month start to finish, but we (with some prior help of Patrick and Frank) did it!

We were officially able to let the girls outside last night, unsupervised. Boy were they not happy. You would think they would enjoy the freedom, but they thought otherwise. Once they have done their business they rush back to the door to come in, which is usually left cracked so they could push their way in. Last night was a different story. When they went to come back inside and the door was closed, they went into panic mode. “Oh my gosh did they really forget about us out here, outside?” From the sound of their cries I could tell that is what they were thinking. They do not understand they have a huge backyard to venture in. I guess the thought of no longer running next door to “attack” Mrs. Janice has lessened their interest in the great backyard adventure.

Yes, our neighbor is “deathly” afraid of dogs and I guess Holly and Penny can sense that because they would start barking her way as soon as they spotted her. I don’t know who could be scared of the girls, but whatevs.

We will make up for the lack of beach-related activities this upcoming weekend. We’ll be taking the girls with us to stay in a pet-friendly cabin at the Gulf Shores/Pensacola KOA. I’m not sure what they will think about going canoeing or fishing, but we shall see. I know Penny loved being on the boat with Michael’s dad when we were out on Lake Eufala, but it’s Holly who likes to play things safe, just like her momma.

We did manage to make it over to Star and Jeremy’s house for some crawfish on Sunday. It was all so good, and such a great break away from the fence.
Since project privacy fence has wrapped up, we looked at each other last night and wondered, what next? Well, I did manage to pick out a few paint samples while we were at Lowe’s over the weekend. We do not love the color that came with the house. Typically that is not a problem, I love to paint! The vaulted ceiling and the thought of getting on a ladder up that high, however, is a problem.

Then we asked each other the question, what color? It’s currently baby food peas green, as I call it. I was wanting a lighter shade of green. It was then brought to my attention that we have several shades of green in the house already. Our bedroom, office, laundry room, guest bathroom and garage (yes, the garage) are all different shades of sage. Why not ONE more room, it’s already green, right?

I guess I will venture out of my safe zone and try to picture a different color. NO other color is going to look right at first after having such a bold color in there since the day we laid eyes on the house. I’m thinking butter cream yellow/tan. Tan is one color we do not have yet. I already have 2 yellow rooms. Why do I have to be so stuck on the same color scheme?

I’m moving into a whole new post here. More on that later.

But I guess I can’t leave without at least one photo. After finishing the fence Michael and I went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, which happens to be right next to Krispy Kreme. Well, if you know me you know I LOVE Oreos. They now have an Oreo doughnut that is out of this world good. Start your mouth watering in 3…2….1.

Mmm!
